I gave up a career in political journalism to follow my love to the north woods of Michigan, where I am now a mom to two teenagers, one of whom I currently home school. I'm also an active volunteer for various progressive projects in my community. Aside from writing, which is the only thing I've ever been paid to do professionally, my primary skill is cooking. I enjoy reading, movies and knitting. My secret vice is an addiction to video games.
